The History Of The Web

The internet was created by the defense department in order to communicate with universities and other important peoples and establishments deemed necessary to reconstruct society in case a global nuclear war. At the time (1967), the computer that connected the networks (Gopher)  could fill a living room and costs billions, and never did the Defense Department believe that people would eventually be able to connect to that network. But with the advent of Macintosh in 1984, Bulletin Boards became accessible and thus the beginning of the net as we know it was born.
